Those who are interested in a trip to Falls creek, the accomodation at Bogong village is available from Tuesday 17 August until 3 september (at he moment at least). Bogong village is a quaint ex-SEC set of houses halfway up the mountain. Nice setting for those who hate snow too. Its outside the resort so we'd have to pay daily or weekly entry fees. It's about 30 mins to the top.
Do we want to go for 5 days mid-week or a full week. I need to put in a leave form soon.

There are 2 houses available. each have 4 bedrooms (one queen, the rest single beds) which would fit 8 people, so two families sharing together. prices are for the whole house, not per person. No 4 is more basic ($760 for the first 2 nights, then $260/night after that). No 19 is $880 for the first 2 nights, then $320 per night.) I'm not sure how this compares to what you paid for a great big lodge at Dinner Plain. If that work's out cheaper then I'm happy to go that way.
Falls Creek is great for cross country, beginner and intermediate skiing. Great for kids and beginners. More snow-making than Hotham too. Not as good as Hotham for the black runs for the experts. it's an hour to Hotham for those who want to try both.
